Demolition contractors in Columbus, Ohio: the five services and how they differ

Residential demolition is not one job. Tearing a whole house down to a graded lot involves different agencies, equipment and paperwork than breaking out a patio or stripping a bathroom to the studs. The pages below separate the work into five services so you can find the one that matches your property and see what each involves before a contractor comes out to look.

Picking a starting point

If a building is coming down completely, start with house demolition, even for a duplex or a small commercial structure on a residential lot. If the structure is detached and smaller than a house, the garage and shed page fits better. Pools have their own page because the choice between filling and fully removing one affects what you can do with the yard for years. Interior demolition is for work that stays inside the walls of a house you are keeping. Concrete removal covers flatwork such as driveways, walks, patios and slabs.

Not sure which applies? Many projects combine two or three of these, and a single site visit can cover all of them. The homepage explains how the work generally runs in Central Ohio, and the service areas page covers each community.

Every service, with the basics up front

What every job shares

No matter which service you need, the price is set by the contractor after seeing the property, and the proposal should say in writing what comes out, what stays, and what the site looks like when the crew leaves. Send your details through the contact page to get that process started.
